BETTI
Digital Printing, sound. 2016
In his solo exhibition "BETTI" Max Mesiats turns to the concept of photography as a metalanguage.
Starting with an image of Tibet on his desktop, Max began looking around for images that could "engage in dialogue" with each other. Each of them was later displayed in the exhibition in the order they were found.
Appealing in this way to the idea of "live montage" by the Russian video artist and theater director Boris Yukhananov, Max "montages" the story as he recognizes it. Eliminating all interpretations of his idea, Max arranges the photo series in such a way that it forms a special kind of environment. A space in which everyone sees its own context.
